Last time we talked about what you might write in your journal.
Today we’ll talk about a great motivator for keeping a journal.
My journals go back to the early years of our marriage.
Journaling helped me think through some of our challenges.
It helped me face up to some of my stupid decisions.
Believe me. I’ve been guilty of some big ones. Maybe you, too?
That is an exercise in accountability and humility. Try it.
Our friend Michael Aun gave me the best reason of all to journal.
"You’re leaving a legacy of your life," he said, "for others.
"They are the great, great grandchildren you will never see.
"They will have a chance to read about your life and times."
That made me stop and think about what I was writing in mine.
The journal wasn’t just for me to set goals and examine events.
This living document would be open to others years from now.
What a challenge for any of us — to leave something worthwhile.
Think about that as Christmas approaches.
My family wishes you and your family a great holiday season.
May you share your love with all you come in contact with.
We’ll resume our conversation next week.
