Get what you want

Keep a daily diary.
Write in it and draw pictures.

Examine the lessons of your day.
Set your goals for tomorrow.

Napoleon Hill practiced this regularly.
Hill wrote the classic “Think and Grow Rich”.
He offers this sage advice:
Note in your diary your good deeds.
Don't let a day end without acts of kindness.
The benefits will be cumulative.
It will place you in the hearts of others.

My mother’s generosity was well-known.
Friends extolled her generosity after her death.

Her children had no idea what she had done.
She knew what giving was all about.

For every favor you receive, give two to others.
The law of increasing returns will operate in your favor.
You get everything you are entitled to receive.

Our friend Ted McGee faithfully practices this law.
Ted gives his time and money to many good causes.
He runs a thriving business but finds time for others.
Ted says the more he gives, the more he receives.
It is fundamental to the Law of Attraction.
The more you do for others, the more they do for you.

This is a two-way highway that must be repaved daily.
Start with your diary.
Note what you did today for others.
This will enforce the idea until it becomes automatic.
Tell me about yout own charitable activities.
Do it in Post a Comment below.

Mastermind alliances

Do you participate in a mastermind alliance?
If not, you should. Such alliances are powerful.
You will gain insights you can attain no other way.
Napoleon Hill wrote about this in “Think and Grow Rich”.
He wrote that this brings together the power of many minds.
You concentrate on attaining definite objectives.
We participate in one with members here and in Europe.
All of us are consultants who bond to help each other.
We meet monthly on Skype and yearly at a resort.
We met for a great sharing session in Tampa last year.
We plan to meet later this year in Philadelphia.
I participate in another group that works on marketing.
We meet monthly to review each others’ marketing plans.
These sessions have greatly improved my marketing skills.
It has given me a chance to help others with theirs.

Mastermind for innovation

Last time we talk about tapping your inner mind for creativity.
Today we’ll talk about melding with other minds for creativity.
Masterminding has been around for centuries.
As far as I know, Napoleon Hill gave the process its name.
A mastermind is a group of individuals working together.
They solve common challenges and weigh opportunities.
This comes out of their combined experience and wisdom.
Over the years. I’ve engaged in many mastermind groups.
Some have been as large as 30 or more business people.
Some have been intimate groups of four or five.
Our Dec. 13-20 cruise will offer mastermind opportunities.
You will be able to talk with others about your challenges.
They will help you reach the most workable solutions.
You’ll also have a chance to hear and discuss theirs.
You’ll weigh opportunities, yours and theirs.
What are the pluses and minuses of these opportunities?
Do the perceived benefits outweigh the potential risks?
This is the cruise of a lifetime. Email me for details.
Today a group of us are going to spend a day with some fine minds.
We will hear 9/11 Mayor Rudy Giuliani and motivator Zig Zigler.
Pastor Robert Schuller, finance whiz Suze Orman and others.
I’ll share some of the best of what they offer in future blogs.
Want to share your creative strategies? How you solve problems?

Develop your genius mind

Last time we talked about Dr. Elmer Gates' fantastic problem solving.
Today we’ll talk about Thomas A. Edison and Luther Burbank.
These stories were uncovered by success strategist Napoleon Hill.
Edison had a system for attracting infallible sources of knowledge.
The great inventor used his subconscious mind during "catnaps."
When he needed the solution, he lay down for 15 minutes of sleep.
He stated clearly what he wanted his subconscious mind to reveal.
With his catnaps Edison refined and completed his inventions.
The great horticulturist Luther Burbank had his own system.
He was mysteriously guided to many of his horticultural "miracles."
He had disciplined his mind to follow carefully-set habits.
Napoleon Hill believed there are two types of minds.
One has been conditioned to believe in success and finds it.
The other has been conditioned to expect failure and finds it.
If men like these could condition their minds, why don’t we?
That’s a challenge for all of us in the new year.
A reminder: Tonight's 17th annual Leadership Forum.
