Time starvation erodes your productivity.
Ever felt completely drained of energy?
John Zenoni called it “stripped clean as a sapling”.
Most of your “to do” list not been touched?
Here are three tips to help you manage the muddle.
1. Just close your door.
Put a sign on it: “I’m busy. Come back later.”
Lock the door to keep the Time Bandits out.
Don’t let these jerks steal your day.
Work at home? Tell the kids you’ll be busy.
“Draw me a picture, honey, or write me a story.
“Give me an hour, then we’ll go shopping.”
2. Put everything in your in-box.
Nothing gets lost that way. Quit hunting.
Just sort the in-box and you’ll find it.
In fact, prioritize the in-box.
Put the really important stuff on top.
That way, you get to it at the start of the day.
3. Tackle the big frogs first.
Mark Twain advised swallowing a frog each morning.
If you’ve got two, swallow the bigger one first.
Mark meant tackle the big payoff projects first.
That's when you’re fresh and ready to work.
Don’t let the little stuff bog you down.

7 tips to manage time
Time is one of our most precious assets.
None of us gets any more of it than anyone else.
Yet some of us use it far more productively.
I employ 27 steps to wring the most from my 24/7.
Here are seven of them you can put to good use today.
1. Get organized. Quit wasting time looking for things.
2. Buy and use an appointment book.
3. Choose one with a calendar for each month.
This lets you see your schedule 4.3 weeks at a time.
4. Schedule appointments and projects in your book.
5. Prioritize all projects. Swallow the big frogs first.
These frogs are your high-payoff projects.
6. Plan tomorrow at the end of today.
7. Organize your "in" box before you go home.
For the other 20, email me at jerry@jerrybellune.com
Please put "Time" in the subject line.
That way I won’t think your message is spam.
Next week we’ll discuss costs and profits.

Getting ourselves better organized
Do you have trouble finding things?
Do you seem to hide them from yourself?
Last week, I coached a group of 26 writers.
Most admitted problems organizing their work.
This is common for highly creative people.
Creative people are compulsive.
They fly by the seat of their pants.
To organize our work, we must organize ourselves.
One place to start is with your daily journal.
Write in it your daily "to do" list.
Call it: "What will advance my goals today."
List them in order of priority. You must prioritize.
Put the big frogs — the high payoff projects — first.
That way the important stuff will get done.
The busy work can wait until tomorrow.
The biggest frog becomes A1.
The smaller frogs become A2 and A3.
The after-lunch frogs become B1 and B2.
Try it. It makes even frogs taste better.
Now I have a visual success strategy for you.
To think like a millionaire, click here.
Tomorrow I’ll share a fantastic organizing secret.
See you then.
