Living a balanced life

Last time we talked about finding your great purpose in life..
Today we’ll talk about the eight areas of concentration:
Spiritual growth, family, community, personal health.
Mental growth, career, financial security — and fun.
You should have goals in each of these areas.
By working on eight sets of goals, you will get more from life.
You also will begin to live a more balanced life.
As a young husband and father, I was highly career oriented.
My precious wife suspended her career to stay at home.
I am eternally grateful to her for that. But I was not fair to her.
I left far too much responsibility for our children with her,
I was the disciplinarian. She was the teacher and encourager.
I missed some of the best days of my children’s lives.
I was so busy getting ahead, I had little time for anything else.
I trust you are smarter than that. Don’t let it happen to you.
Later today, Bill Rogers and I will conduct an important session.
We’ll meet with editors and publishers in South Carolina.
We’ll discuss ways to cut costs and increase revenues.
I’ll share some of those strategies with you in coming weeks.
